Eric Clapton's timeless album, "Unplugged", is an earthy acoustic collection of some of Clapton's finest songs. Pair it with a spicy, bold 2003 Rosenblum "Lyon's Reserve" Zin. With a 90 point rating, this Zin is a rich, exotic blackberry and cassis laden wine which hails from two mountain vineyards located above 1000 feet in the Vaca range on the eastern side of Napa Valley. Steely Dan "Aja" is an upbeat contemporary jazz standard. If you don't already own it, you should. No one since has matched the unique sound and complex simplicity that this band was able to achieve on this recording. The musicianship is so great, it sounds as good today as it did the day it was recorded. On a summer afternoon have a garden party and pair this album with a 1997 Bertani Amarone. It can be purchased at wine.com for 79.99. The taste of Cherries, red berries and a hint of vanilla lead into a dazzling finish. Like "Aja", this wine too is layered, complex, bittersweet, and brilliant!
